Schultz joined Starbucks in 1982 and eventually purchased the company in 1987. Since April, Schultz has served as interim CEO, and the company announced that Laxman Narasimhan would take over as CEO.<\/li><\/ol><p>\u00a0<\/p><ol start=\"2\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Gap announced in July that Sonia Syngal would step down as CEO effective immediately. Bob Martin, the retailer&#8217;s executive chairman, is serving as interim CEO. Syngal was the CEO of Gap for only two years.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><ol start=\"3\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Peloton co-founder John Foley announced his resignation as CEO in February. He was in charge of the company during its pandemic-fueled rise and subsequent sharp drop in demand. Barry McCarthy, a former CFO at both Spotify and Netflix, has taken over as CEO.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><ol start=\"4\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> CNN President Jeff Zucker abruptly resigned in February, citing a failure to disclose a romantic relationship with a network executive. Zucker had worked for CNN since 2013.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><ol start=\"5\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Sheryl Sandberg announced her resignation as COO of Meta, formerly Facebook, in early June. She had been with the company for 14 years and was instrumental in turning Facebook into an advertising behemoth. Sandberg was frequently referred to as Facebook&#8217;s &#8220;adult in the room.&#8221;<\/span><\/li><\/ol><ol start=\"6\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Under Armour CEO,Patrik Frisk unexpectedly announced his resignation from the struggling athletic company in May after two years at the helm.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since June 1, Colin Browne, the company&#8217;s COO, has served as interim CEO.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><ol start=\"7\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In June, Bed Bath &amp; Beyond appointed board director Sue Gove as interim CEO, replacing Mark Tritton, who was fired due to a sales slump. The shift occurred just a few months after Chewy co-founder and activist investor Ryan Cohen purchased a stake in the company and publicly criticised its turnaround strategy.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><ol start=\"8\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Adidas unexpectedly announced that CEO Kasper Rrsted will step down in 2023, before his contract expires. Rrsted has been the CEO of Adidas since 2016, and he has overseen the company&#8217;s often contentious relationship with rapper-turned-designer Kanye West.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><ol start=\"9\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Pinterest announced in late June that co-founder Ben Silbermann would take on a new role as executive chairman. Bill Ready, a former Google executive and former Venmo CEO, has taken over as CEO of Pinterest.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><ol start=\"10\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Todd Vasos, CEO of Dollar General, has announced his retirement, effective November 1. Jeffrey Owen, the budget retailer&#8217;s COO, will take over as CEO.
